Wesley Sneijder wants to join Manchester United this summer

Inter Milan midfielder Wesley Sneijder reportedly wants to join Manchester United this summer

At the weekend it was reported that the 26-year-old is currently in California to consider a summer move away from the San Siro, with both Premier League champions United and their city rivals Manchester City keen on signing the £30million-rated Dutchman (see below).

And according to Dutch journalist Marcel van der Kraan, the Netherlands international is keen on a move to Old Trafford as the Red Devils look for a replacement for Paul Scholes.

"We know that Wesley is really keen to move to Manchester, I think it is United most of all," Van der Kraan told talkSPORT.

"He knows that Scholes is retiring and that is the job for him, the role is made for him at Old Trafford."

Both City and United have been told that they will have to offer Sneijder more than £200,000 a week if they are to secure his services.

United are also believed to be lining up a move for Tottenham playmaker Luca Modric should they miss out on Sneijder.

David De Gea won't decide on Manchester United move until end of June

Manchester United target David De Gea insists he will not decide on whether to join the Premier League champions until after the European Under-21 Championship

Reports in Spain last month claimed De Gea had agreed to join United, only for the 20-year-old's lawyer to later confirm that a deal had not been signed.

Jose Bouzas Aragon dismissed reports as being false and said De Gea would not consider a move to United - or Atletico Madrid's new contract offer - until June 30th.

And speaking ahead of the start of the Under-21 tournament in Denmark, the highly-rated keeper told reporters: "I will only speak about my future after the end of the Euro Under-21s.

"Right now my challenge is to help the Spain team, but generally my desire is to play at the top and to improve day to day."

United and Atletico are believed to have agreed a fee of around £16million for De Gea.
